Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola, a very well known soft drink company, is the world's first PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottle made entirely from bio-based products. PlantBottle™ is the packaging company for Coca-Cola and it's packaging uses technology "that converts natural sugars found in plants into the ingredients for making PET plastic bottles." With their contributions to the bioplastic industry, it has showed an improvement in the environment. The use of PlantBottle packaging saved the "annual emissions of more than 315,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide."

Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI) is internationally known as "the preferred source for plastic package design, package development, rapid prototyping, pre-production prototyping, and material evaluation engineering for the plastic packaging industry." PTI runs as a research and development company for PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packages. It's contribution helps other companies use more bioplastics, which furthers the bioplastic industry.

Jamplast

Jamplast is a company that uses bio-polymers, which are "renewable, sustainable, responsible alternative to traditional polymers." By using bio-polymers, this cuts down carbon emissions which is better for the environment because it decreases the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. Carbon dioxide is bad for the environment because crops can absorb it and we consume it.

NatureWorks
NatureWorks's specialty is making polymers. Their subset company is named Ingeo, which extracts the starch and sugars from plants. Then, "enzymes are added to convert the glucose to dextrose via a process called hydrolysis." Their technology consists of raw materials that don't have many traditional plastic traits. It preforms uniquely with it's fibers and chemicals. Technology then "converts lactic acid into...Ingeo PLA (polylactic acid) polymers each tailored to a set of specific performance attributes." By using plants, they make use of greenhouse gases by turning it into sugars that they can fermet.
